Job Summary: A writing tutor works individually with students of all levels and disciplines on writing for academic, professional, or other purposes.  

Duties and Responsibilities: A writing tutor may help students with any of the following:

• Interpret an assignment sheet and talk through ideas for a paper
• Develop ideas with greater specificity
• Consider choices with regard to audience, focus, purpose, reasoning, or organization
• Integrate scholarly sources and apply proper documentation
• Improve student editing and proofreading skills

Qualifications: Applicants should be passionate about writing, interested in teaching, and excited to work with students on their writing projects.

Special Requirements: Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, be an SDA church member in good and regular standing, and evidence a desire to serve in a cooperative, spiritually redemptive, and soul-winning atmosphere.
