Location: Applied Technology
Hours: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay: $14+/hour base; $5.50 Commission
Position Summary: Automotive Technician accurately diagnoses automotive issues; effectively and efficiently repairs vehicles; has and models an exemplary work ethic (honesty, assume responsibility for mistakes, etc); builds positive rapport with customers, coworkers, students, and managers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Accurately diagnose automotive issues
- Effectively and efficiently repair vehicles
- Generate reasonable increasing billable hours per week focusing on quality with a goal of 25-30 billable hours per week in the second year of employment
- Utilize assigned technology to document work processes that improve communication of automotive issues with customers and increase billing efficiencies
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Contribute regularly to the overall cleanliness and organization in the shop
- Comply with all OSHA/EPA/Safety requirements
- Build positive and respectful rapport with customers, coworkers, students, and managers that fosters a harmonious work environment and increases customer respect and loyalty
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Must have and/or acquire own tools
- Must possess current and valid driver’s license
- Must successfully be approved for and maintain status as a University-approved driver
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs on a regular basis
- Obtain ASE Certified Master Mechanic within first year of employment
- Maintain ASE Master Mechanic certification throughout employment
