Pay: $22.68 - $28.81/hr.
Job Summary: The Master Industrial Maintenance Technician will perform Fire alarms, controls, electrical and/or mechanical installations/repairs, and other jobs related to the maintenance, renovation, or construction of campus facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Special Requirements: Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and be a SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Qualifications: An electrician’s license is required. Must have knowledge of commercial and industrial work applications. Must know how to perform other maintenance and preventative maintenance functions. Understand how to troubleshoot controls in various electrical equipment such as boilers, hot water heaters, circulatory pumps, etc. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Basic computer skills required. Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license with a reasonable driving record.
Education and Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, with varied experience in maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical systems, including fire alarms and other control systems.
EST-3 fire alarm experience is a plus.
Skills and Aptitudes: Interpersonal relationship skills essential with the ability to work with other employees in a team spirit and the ability to interact appropriately with personnel (faculty and students) on job sites are required. Have safety consciousness and be able to promote it within the workforce. You must use care with tools and equipment.
Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching overhead, climbing extension and step ladders, and driving university vehicles. It may require lifting up to 75 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to work with electrician’s tools for low-voltage wiring. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under normal weather and office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. It may require outside work for exterior alarm devices. May be contacted after normal business hours, on weekends, or on holidays for work needs.
