Custodial Supervisor

Hours: Full-time, hourly
Pay: $17.68 - $23.99/hr.
Job Summary: The Custodial Supervisor monitors and supervises all activities of student custodial workers who provide cleaning support to campus buildings. The supervisor will assist the Director in using department resources efficiently and in leading and training student workers. The supervisor will hold student workers accountable for their assigned shifts and duties. This will include providing positive mentoring and student learning opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Special Requirements: An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and a SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Two to five years of supervising employees. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Be a self-starter, able to work without supervision, and possess good organizational skills. The ability to supervise multiple crews.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires climbing stairs, walking, sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. -- Requires a standard range of hearing and vision.

- Cleans the university buildings with the assistance of student workers.
- On campus supervision of 45-50 student custodial workers daily.
- Mentor and nurture university students/employees.
- Insures the campus is clean, disinfected, and well-maintained.
- Arranges daily work schedules for students.
- Assists in hiring and training student employees.
- Train students in the safe use of equipment and proper chemical usage.
- Evaluates student personnel.
- Performs work for absentee students as needed.
- Oversees student employee time cards.
- Performs all other business-related functions or tasks as assigned by the Director.
