Access Manager

Pay: $25.26 - $31.57
 
Job Summary:  The Access Manager coordinates and administers access to university properties by implementing access policies and procedures, and administering access systems to provide security and safety for personnel and university properties.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates priorities and provides support for door lock technician
  • Maintains, monitors, and runs diagnostics on university electronic access databases
  • Programs, administers, and encodes access cards into electronic lock databases
  • Administers and maintains keyed master systems
  • Maintains, diagnoses, and repairs electronic and keyed locking systems
  • Coordinates installation of locks with company or maintenance staff
  • Acts as the university liaison to lock companies
  • Attends committees as assigned
  • Organizes and maintains access records
  • Advises and implements decisions of the Key Committee
  • Writes and maintains access, policies, and procedures for approval by the Key Committee
  • Supplies, builds, prepares, and coordinates installation of locks and locking systems with maintenance staff or companies
  • Specifies style, brand, options, and orders locking devices in coordination with the Associate Director over Building Systems
  • Coordinates and teaches correct usage of locking systems to staff and students
  • Performs all other reasonably business-related functions as assigned
Special Requirements:  Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and be a SDA church member in good and regular standing, and a desire to serve in a corporate, spiritually redemptive, and soul-winning atmosphere.
 
Qualifications:  Knowledge of and ability to enter information into electronic lock computer databases.  Self-motivated and able to prioritize and accomplish projects and work orders with little to no supervision.  Proficiency in computer skills is required.  Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; and be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.  Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license with reasonable driving record.
 
Education and Experience: A minimum of an associate degree or the equivalent in documented work experience. Locksmith experience and electronic lock knowledge desired.
 
Skills and AptitudesInterpersonal relationship skills are essential with the ability to work well with supervisors and other employees in a team spirit. Has the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Have safety-consciousness and able to promote it within work force.  Must use care with tools and equipment. Practices confidentiality of information at all times.
 
Physical Demands:  Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and driving university vehicles. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephone, other office equipment, and light construction equipment such as drill, grinder, key duplicating machine, and small hand tools.. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
 
Working Conditions:  Essential tasks are performed under normal office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is normally well lighted and ventilated.  May be contacted after normal business hours, on weekends, or holidays for work needs. May require outside work for exterior locking devices.
