Web Specialist

Job Summary: Marketing and University Relations (MUR) is seeking a temporary, full-time Web Specialist to support continuity of established web initiatives during a six month period. This role focuses on managing and maintaining existing website systems, content, and workflows. The position reports to the Director of Marketing and University Relations.

Job Duties:
  • Manage and maintain existing webpages and components within the university's CMS, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to the university's established web and branding standards.
  • Coordinate updates, approvals, and publishing workflows with on-campus partners, serving as a point of contact to keep requests moving efficiently.
  • Provide limited, client-driven content support as directed and approved by the Director, ensuring content aligns with institutional guidlelines and messaging.
  • Support ongoing web initiatives by tracking timelines, tasks, and follow-ups, helping ensure projects' progress and completion.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and light troubleshooting, identifying issues and coordinating resolutions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple web-related requests and collaborate effectively with campus partners.
  • Experience working within established web systems, processes, and guidelines, including adherence to governance, standards, and approval workflows.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and component-based web editing, including making updates within existing page structures and components.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and basic CSS, sufficient to support content updates, minor adjustments, troubleshooting, and quality assurance within existing frameworks.
