Job Summary: Southern Adventist University seeks a full-time teaching faculty member in the School of Business for face-to-face classroom instruction on the campus in Collegedale, TN, with expertise in business analytics and/or international business. The primary focus will be teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in data analytics, predictive modeling, global trade, cross-cultural management, and related areas, drawing on professional experience to integrate course theories with current events and real-world applications. Ideal candidates will facilitate learning congruent with a Christian biblical worldview and Seventh-day Adventist beliefs, fostering student engagement, spiritual growth, and career readiness in ethical, data-informed global business practices.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate degree in business analytics, international business, or related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the area of expertise; master’s in a related field acceptable with significant professional credentials.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in for-profit sectors (e.g., data analytics consulting, multinational corporations).
• Articulate integration of biblical foundations in business analytics and international contexts.
• Commitment to student learning, engagement, and holistic advising (academic, career, spiritual).
• Evidence of successful teaching at undergraduate/graduate levels, with a focus on student-centered, experiential learning (preferred).

Duties/Essential Functions
Teaching/Academic

• Prepare and teach undergraduate and graduate courses (e.g., business analytics, international business strategy; 12 credit hours/semester).
• Develop innovative course materials, incorporating data tools, case studies, and global simulations aligned with SDA values.
• Maintain accurate records (grades, syllabi, attendance) and provide timely feedback.
• Contribute to scholarly/professional engagement (e.g., publications, conferences) and curriculum development/accreditation.

Student

• Provide academic, career, and spiritual advising; maintain 8+ hours of weekly office hours (for the purposes of student accessibility and support).
• Facilitate experiential learning outside of the classroom (e.g., sponsor student clubs/groups, industry networking, study tours).
• Serve as sponsor/co-sponsor for student groups.
• Nurture students' spiritual and professional growth, guiding them toward God's calling in ethical global business.

Other

• Actively contribute to departmental and university committees.
• Positively contribute to the spiritual tenor, collegiality, and mission of the department and university.
• Other duties as assigned.

Special Requirements: Must have a strongly expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and be an SDA church member in good and regular standing.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, and telephone. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under normal office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is well lighted and ventilated.
