Job summary:
This position supports specific School of Nursing academic operations and program outcomes. The secretary works closely with other faculty and staff to facilitate timely and accurate pre-licensure student eligibility for state RN license through the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX- RN) process.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Familiarize self and students with current state RN application and licensing requirements.
- Assist students with NCLEX-RN application processes.
- Ensure graduate transcripts are sent to accompany NCLEX-RN applications, in keeping with state requirements.
- Maintain SON continuing education approval with the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Oversee distribution of continuing education certificates.
- Assist with SON events, including alumni homecoming meetings, advisory council, nursing dedication, FOA seminar, or Meet the Firms, if requested.
- Assist the undergraduate clinical coordinator and other office staff to document and verify student compliance with agency requirements for clinical practicum experiences, as needed.

Working conditions and typical physical demands:
Indoor private office. Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office, computer, and AV equipment.
