Hours: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay: $18.33 - $24.64/hr.
Job Summary: The office manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University Health Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- • Supervises receptionist for the UHC.
• Responsible for ordering all office supplies.
• Responsible for processing accounts receivable.
• Manages the non-medical day-to-day clinic activities.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the facility by communicating with the cleaning person from the service department.
• Help with the front office operations.
• Handles all insurance billing and related tasks.
• Collects data on facility activity and prepares reports for administration.
• Responsible for training staff on the university computer system (Datatel) and office system (Medicat) software.
• Responsible for compliance with state and federal laws regarding clinic services.
• Maintains all employee credentials.
• Schedule facility repairs and maintenance with plant services.
• Attends scheduled UHC staff meetings and records minutes.
• Participates in all registration events.
• Performs all other reasonable business-related functions as assigned.
• Complies with all OSHA, FERPA, and HIPAA regulations

Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of experience in general office practice preferred. Practice confidentiality of information at all times. Strong communication skills and computer skills in various areas, including Word and Excel. Good customer service skills and tactfulness in dealing with people, along with discretion, good judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently. Must be able to work well with medical personnel and be a team player.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under standard office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. The work area is well-lighted and ventilated.
