Office Manager/Technology Support - School of Nursing

Location: Miller Hall Simulation Center
Hours: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay: $18.73 - $25.06

Job Summary: The Office Manager/Technology Support manages the Miller Hall Simulation Center central office, assisting students and faculty with building activities, ordering supplies and equipment, assisting with clinical placement, student files, and other office tasks. He/she also assists with simulation set-up and technology issues to keep simulation activities flowing smoothly. He/she will also ensure equipment is maintained, working properly, and repaired as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and helps coordinate activities in the Simulation Center.
  • Is present in the Simulation Center office to answer the phone, field questions, assist students and faculty, order supplies, ensure building security, and monitor activities.
  • Ensures building cleanliness and maintenance, promptly reporting any building problems to the appropriate campus departments.
  • Assists with simulation set up and changes as needed.
  • Troubleshoots IT, AV, and simulation technology problems (including those in AHH).
  • Collaborates with IT, AV, and campus safety departments regarding security and technology needs, issues, and updates.
  • Collaborates with the skills, simulation, and other nursing faculty for high-quality student simulation experiences.
  • Contacts external vendors as needed for supplies, technology assistance, repairs, and maintenance of simulation, office, and other equipment.
  • Facilitates guest, potential student/family tours of the simulation center.
  • Assists the undergraduate clinical coordinator and faculty support secretary with tracking students' meeting requirements for clinical.
  • Attends office-worker and other nursing and university meetings as deemed appropriate.
  • Maintains a customer service and personal growth mindset in all activities.
Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications and experience: Requisite qualities include experience with Office Suite software, computer, IT, and AV training and experience. Previous experience with healthcare simulation equipment is highly desirable.
 
Special Requirements: Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ and the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, be an SDA church member in good and regular standing. 
 
Typical Physical Demands:
This position requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. It may also require lifting up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office, computer, and AV equipment and sufficient strength to move simulation equipment, including beds, stretchers, manikins, and other moderately heavy equipment, are also required. 
 
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under normal indoor temperature-controlled conditions in the office/school. The work area is well lit and ventilated.
