Job Summary: Southern Adventist University. The School of Religion seeks a faculty member to begin in January 2026. Applicant must be an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in regular standing and should have a Ph.D. (or be near completion) in a discipline which prepares them to teach classes in Adventist history and biblical Christian worldview and apologetics. Positive experience in both pastoral ministry and teaching is helpful. Candidate must demonstrate a contagious love for Jesus, a strong commitment to the authority of Scripture, and a deep passion for the Adventist message and mission. Good people skills and the ability to engage students in a positive, faith-building manner in the classroom are essential.
Special Requirements: A strongly expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, a SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, and telephone. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under normal office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is well lighted and ventilated.
