Job Summary: The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching adult learners enrolled in online classes in the Communication program for the Adult Degree Completion (ADC) program.

Job Duties:

• Prepare content and teach 8-week module undergraduate journalism and/or communication courses online
• Advise and mentor online students academically and spiritually
• Teach undergraduate online adult learners who are 25 + years old enrolled in the ADC (Adult Degree Completion) Program at Southern
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Possess a high degree of technological proficiency for teaching online, capable of using e-class, Zoom, and university platforms

Salary Schedule: Salary is based upon a per-course fee as determined by the University.  No benefits are offered for this position.

Special Requirement: An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and a SDA church member in good and regular standing preferred but not required. 

Minimum Requirements:  Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Journalism
