Job Summary: Conducts individual and group counseling sessions in a caring, culturally accepting and confidential environment part time; manages the Quality Enhancement Plan on mental wellness part time
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides individual and group counseling for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participates in rotation for on-call after-hours response and daily psychological emergency situations.
- Works with the Counseling Services Coordinator to develop referral relationships with off campus professionals.
- Working in consultation with the Counseling Services Coordinator, facilitates student referrals for psychiatric services.
- Serves, as directed by the Counseling Services Coordinator, as an alternating member of the Student Support Team.
- Assists the Director of Student Support Services and the Vice-President for Student Development in the administration of student service programming.
- Oversees implementation and sustainability of the Living in Balance: Healthy Minds QEP
- Chairs the QEP Implementation Task Force
- Communicates with campus entities involved in implementation to ensure efficiency
- Plans and executes events and supporting activities involved in implementation plan
- Annual events
- Quarterly events
- Weekly articles in the Accent
- Normalizing Failure video campaign creation and campus release
- Social media content
- Faculty development events
- Student leadership training events
- Visiting lectures at classes and student events
- Course content monitoring and support
- Coordinates with Institutional Research to partner in data gathering from course and event participation
- Writes the fifth-year interim report
Special Requirements: An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, an SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree and licensure in counseling (LPC). A minimum of three years of successful counseling related experience.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25-30 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under normal office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is lighted and ventilated.
